I'm sorry to say this, but after doing some testing, I discovered that block placing was very glitchy, and that the game barely worked after placing 1000 (which may seem like a lot, but it really isn't much) blocks.
Also, there was a lot of inefficient and bad code. I started making this when I didn't know how to program very well..
I will release what I had (it isn't much) as a demonstration. For now, I will probably stop developing it.

That is too bad, anuke. I am always happy to follow along while people are learning, so I think every attempt is a new opportunity to try your skills. But just with any learning, that means starting over sometimes. I think we all understand!

Well, here's the build.

It's glitchy and you can't jump for some reason, but you get the idea.

That's actually quite neat, I think the concept for water physics, burning wood and the like are all really neat!

Also, if you haven't done it yet, you can press E to open your inventory. Don't mind the descriptions, I was messing around a bit and forgot to remove them.
Depending on what resolution you chose, you might be able to see the hotbar at the right. You can drag the blocks into the green slot to start placing them. You can also use the scrollwheel to change the selected slot.

Ah, I hadn't even noticed that :) It is a shame that you would need to rebuild it from the ground up, but I think this was a huge stride in terms of learning! So, awesome job, Anuke!

Ah, well, actually, I think I'll reuse the inventory for the next game. The inventory isn't as messedup/glitchy as the other parts.

That is awesome!
If it's broken, fix it.
If it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

So, what are your plans on this new game you've mentioned? Any major thoughts yet?

It's going to be a 2.5D rogue-ish type of game. Maybe a bit like the Hexxit modpack for minecraft.
Well, until I change my mind, that is! :P

That looks quite interesting! I would be interested to see how the character moves in the world and how the game deals with height, but I know this is a bit early yet :) Looking very promising!

I'm guessing that link you posted is for a windows version, right?

Since you're building it with unity, would you mind exporting a Mac version of the game?

While using my FTP client, I accidentally pressed delete. It deleted the whole documents folder.

And the thing is, I actually pressed 'no' when it asked if to delete it or not, and then it froze up and STILL deleted it.

It didn't recycle it.

As I said, it got deleted while I was using an FTP client.
