So, Google has decided to join the virtual reality game by turning your everyday smartphone into a VR display.

Oh, the practice of reactionary images, hilarious.. Anyway, let's get back to the discussion!
I don't know if I personally would want one - but I do quite like the idea of this sort of collapsible VR device. It's sort of silly and weird and I think it is quite interesting. Especially since it seems to be entirely mechanical and not digital - meaning off-brand cheaper versions could be possible.

Fair enough, I suppose. I won't micromanage Sebastian's thread here. I guess I am sort of a neat freak in terms of going back, editing old posts and including new information, be it picture, video text, to further my point. Anyway! Technicalities aside.StreetLights wrote:Images were relevant. Google is making a VR helmet from a cardboard box, and they plan to sell it, for which I expect around £80
While any price may be arguably steep for what it offers, I think the software side is what I am more curious and excised for. I would bet, that if the mobile software for this sort of apparatus hits the wider-market, knock-off brand devices that serve the same purpose may become a much more plausible way to enjoy a mobile VR type thing.
EDIT: Also, for a second I assumed that a printable version could be possible. However I think the lenses are the real valuable part. My guess would be is that they a fairly specific to the screen size and their curvature.
