Swords' Comprehensive List Of Ugc Games + Designer Tools
The UGC Games
All of the following UGC games are free, but all of them also have their own forms of microtransactions built-in, to a varying degree of necessity for enjoyment of the game.
Project Spark (http://projectspark.com/): See my topic about this game for information/thoughts. NOTE: CURRENTLY IN CLOSED BETA. THIS WILL ONLY PLAY ON WINDOWS 8.1 OR XBOX (360/One).
Kogama (http://us.kogama.com/): Besides Project Spark, it looks like the closest thing to Atmosphir there is. It's got some emphasis on FPS apparently, and I don't know too much about the game, but it's something.
Sploder (http://www.sploder.com/): This one's been around for a long time, but it's still high quality for a 2D accessible platformer game creator in the web browser.
Createrria (http://www.createrria.com/): An iOS game that is a 2D platformer designer tool, alongside a play browser of user-created levels.
Growtopia (http://growtopiagame.com/): A PC/Mac/iOS/Android game that feels a lot like Terraria in its building/crafting respect, but has social components to it and allows you to host your own "map"/"world" for others to visit. A lot of fun parkour levels have been designed here.
Gametracer (http://www.gametracer.net): A PC/iOS/Android game that runs on the Unity engine. It's sorta like a mediocre Atmosphir clone, but y'know, when you got nothing else to choose from...
8BitMMO (http://8bitmmo.net/): A Java web browser game that's sorta like Growtopia in the sense of its sandbox, but is MMORPG focused I believe.
Second Life (http://secondlife.com): The virtual world by Linden Labs that started it all and is still going, now in your web browser.

I would say that the differences between KoGaMa and Atmosphir actually work for it quite well I have nothing wrong with Design Mode existing as a separate entity to Play Mode, but of the games that I have seen that do mix the two - it seems to sway the most part from being slightly awkward in controlling to working pretty well.

I tend to never be overly skeptical of things from the beginning, but rather positively interested in seeing how it turns out. I know that this attitude is kinda naive, but cynicism has just never been my thing.
In terms of builder-type games, I've had a few ideas of how I might function in a UI and mechanical way. However, I am far too new to any sort of coding to delve into something that complex

I've been around since 2008. And I'm old. Yay. Pretty sure I notched a fair amount of LOTD/XPs but somehow always like my underrated levels more. Go figure. My best design days are behind me, but I'll try to not be too shabby.
