Some creepy old guy pops out of a bush near the docks, and behind the boathouse. Only half of his face is visible, due to the rusty lamp he is holding up. He seems ghost-like, due to the effect of the lamp and the mysterious mist that covers the docks.

"Head to the west oceanic gate about 8 miles from here, and go past the sage's hut. Directly after passing his hut, wait for approximately 42.6 seconds and look to your right. You will see a mysterious beam of light shoot out of the ocean at a very fast rate. Row towards it."

He tosses the 2 heroes a cup of butterscotch flavored pudding each, and disappears into the night.

I shake my head. "Oh well, how do you work this thing...?" I flip switches and button but nothing would turn the boat on.
