I have now made the signatures auto theme themselves based on your avatars. Its not perfect yet however.

Why can't we customize it? ;-;

I'm still trying to figure out a system that would allow you guys to customize it as you please. As of right now, changing your avatar will change the signature colours.

The background colour is picked from coordinate 0,0 (the very top left corner) of the avatar.
The text colour is picked from the dead center of the avatar.

Hmm, that's interesting. Maybe you could average a few color samples taken from various places?

What happens if the colors are very similar?

I suppose I could technically try averaging colours, the trouble is finding consistent math that works for every avatar sampling.

In terms of similar colours, the text colour is inverted within a certain tolerance if the colours are too close together.

Another random idea: Maybe instead of picking both colors from the avatar, somehow pick just the main "theme" color, and find some algorithm to calculate the complementary color. That way the colors would always look good together, and yet still be related to the avatar.

Just a random suggestion tho :P

I considered that at one point. I'm thinking that the complimentary colour should be similar, but vibrant enough to differentiate from the background as opposed to being completely opposite however.
For example, this website is blue, and the text is a lighter blue.

Apple does a really good job of this with the iTunes Albums view. Perhaps you could steal their algorithm?

I'm working on making the signatures look a tiny bit prettier now. I'm adding transitions, as well as some dynamic background graphics.

Edit:
Transitions are not going to be employed in the generated signatures. Made too much of a performance hit.

Yayy for transitions! Oh wait. :(

On the bright side, the signatures have backgrounds.

Mine certainly isn't in a weird place.

I suppose I should look at implementing the rule of thirds into the stats.

Maybe you could make badges based on the Post Ranks? I dunno, just a thought.
