Maybe a html coder joined our website and created Father Christmas

You heard it here first. Modern Father Christmas lore - all published created and distributed by a html coder in 2013.

Haha, Anyways - Sebastian, what is your future plans? Any further "stats" ideas? You know, perhaps the "very official forum ranks" could be calculated in a section similar to the "Types of users"

Well,there should be post ranking.

Here's my ideas for it

75-99=platinum poster
100-249=bronze master poster
250-499=silver master poster
500-749=gold master poster
750-999=platinum master poster
1000-2499=bronze quick poster
2500-4999=silver quick poster
5000-7499=gold quick poster
7500-9999=platinum quick poster
10000-49999=bronze super poster
50000-99999=silver super poster
100000-149999=platinum super poster
150000-250000=ultimate poster
250000-500000=overlord poster

I suppose I could always create micro images that are generated for users as well.
They could be smaller than the generated signatures, and display more simple data, such as a current user ranking.

Because I keep this forum updated

Alrighty all!
Once I'm home, I'm going to be making a few changes.
  1. Your activity will no longer be based on a daily rate calculated on your weekly amount of posts. Instead, your activity will simply be based on the amount of posts made within 7 days.
  2. The account age graph is inaccurate, newer accounts are being shown as older. I'm going to have to fix that.
  3. I'll probably start adding some more graphs, feel free to give your own suggestions as well.
  4. If you're using a generated signature, I'll be adding a frame that advertises OMB related events and news. I'll also add a frame for displaying your forum achievements as little badges (Yup, I'm planning on adding achievements to the stats).
  5. If you currently don't use a generated signature because you prefer using your signature space for something custom, I'll be creating a smaller frame of around 50 x 100 that will just display your forum achievements (in the form of badges). That way you still have plenty of signature space for other stuff.
  6. I might create a system that allows moderators to tag certain posts as advertisable. It will entail placing a proprietary code into your post hashed from the date, posts content, containing thread, post number, and post author (You won't be able to steal another persons code as a result). Any posts with a code will be advertised in signatures and the stats (Only the most recently tagged post will be shown in signatures. Within any other medium, there will be a 7 day decay for a list of advertisements).
That's pretty much everything. If you have any suggestions, or would like to attest against any of the changes before I make them, feel free to let me know. As well, if there's anything here you don't understand I have no problem re-explaining things.

tl;dr version.

I'm adding a crapton of stuff to the stats.
User badges are being added, and stuff is being optimized. Your posts might get the privilege of being advertised. As well, I'm adding a tiny badge display for people who like their signatures space for other stuff.

That sounds super cool, the smaller signature option sounds really nice :D One thought I had, but haven't suggested as it would likely require a bit of work. I was thinking it would be quite cool to have a chart of the Mods vs. User which goes up and down as it detects users and moderators posting. I am unsure how intensive of work that would be, but again - just a thought :P

But yes the updates you suggested sound lovely!

That would actually be quite easy to do. I can already detect who is and isn't a mod. Though so I can clarify how things are tallied, should it be a graph based on total mod posts and total user posts, or the highest number both parties managed to reach?

Maybe like a line graph and differently coloured line for each party? Perhaps over the chronological days of the threads existence? :D
