OK, so we all know that touch-screens have extended past the realm of phones and have ingrained themselves into stuff like video game consoles and computers.

Do you think companies are starting to go overboard with it?

I'm gonna go ahead and ring in with my opinion.

Touch screens in general are not a bad thing. This is part of what makes the DS and the 3DS great systems. The touch screen/dual screen technology makes gameplay quite interesting, and I think the idea was very well-executed on both consoles.

With recent electronics though, companies seem to be using touch screens for the sake of using touch screens, and I find that a lot more bothersome. I mean, adding them where they aren't needed makes the product way harder to use than it really needs to be. It's very practical on things like phones and tablets, but on things like computers I find it to be very...forced-feeling, I guess.

If it's not necessary, don't add it. That's the bottom line.

I see touch screens (TS-s) are common to some extent. While I do find them neat gadgets, they will never replace the true way of using PCs: Keyboard and Mouse. So no, TS-s are not too prominent in current electronic media.

I think your arm would get really tired if you were navigating your 26-inch touchscreen on your pc/mac for an hour or two...
If it's broken, fix it.
If it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.

I think it's just the way things are going to be from now on. My uncle has touchscreen light switches in his house. And a touchscreen SHOWER.

I think that's definitely a safe assumption, but I think the use of touchscreens on things like showers and fridges are highly unnecessary.

The only thing that I really dislike about touchscreens being everywhere is that windows 8 was designed for them. Did they really have to make their operating system in such a way that using it on a non-touchscreen computer is annoying?

Yeah, that's why I hate Windows 8. Very poorly thought out move if I say so myself.
