Voxel Adventure

Post by Anuke »

A while ago, I decided to make a voxel-based 2D sandbox game, by the name of Astriverse. It didn't work out.

Well, now I've figured out how to make an efficient voxel system with unity. Here's how it looks like so far:

I've got basic terrain generation working. Physics aren't finished yet though.

Controls

For now, you can only place/break blocks and fly around.

Use the scrollwheel to change the selected item. Leftclick to break blocks, rightclick to place them. You have to have a block selected to place it.
Left control to break background blocks, leftshift to place them.

To move items around, click an item and then click a slot to put the item there. You can hold lshift while placing an item in a slot to place half the item there.

Downloads

Windows only, for now.

Please report any bugs you find! and thanks for playing!

Other Screenshots

Messing around with the colors.

I knew you would say that.

...No, it isn't. But you probably won't believe me.

I've been around since 2008. And I'm old. Yay. Pretty sure I notched a fair amount of LOTD/XPs but somehow always like my underrated levels more. Go figure. My best design days are behind me, but I'll try to not be too shabby.

It's kind of sad that my screamer got twice as many comments than a legit game...

This is super neat :) So, are you able to currently edit the blocks? like sort of carve your way around and such?
