Nintendo Switch discussion thread

Nintendo's last couple of consoles have been built around really weird controllers, but now they're switching gears.

...What?

*Sigh* College has me kinda sleep-deprived, gimme a break.

Anyway...
I didn't believe the "Home console-handheld hybrid" rumor at first because I had no idea how the hell that was supposed to be possible, but apparently it is. Obviously we don't know how well it actually works yet, but I'm impressed that they even found a way to pull off something like that.

Discuss.

It seems like it could be really good. I'm going to wait until after it comes out before I listen to the hype though, we might have another Wii U on our hands.

That seems to be the general consensus, although it's worth noting that the Switch's reveal trailer has been much better received than the Wii U's. The Wii U's was all over the place reception-wise.

^ qualitiest reply thus far

it's probably gonna live or die on it's battery life (quick glare at 3ds and wii u gamepad) but it's a better, less confusing pitch than the wii u so i think it had the potential to at least do well saleswise

it would be nice to have a good-selling nintendo console again so we can get some third party action

The thing is, the Switch doesn't need to be extremely powerful, Nintendo's consoles never were. While the PS4 and Xbox are trying to be more like a PC, the Switch is doing something new. Though if rumors are true, it won't be a total piece of crap power-wise.

Why would Nintendo want to make a total piece of crap (like this isn't)? And BAG, the rumors are probably true, from the trailer.

Anyone still using their switch regularly? I've had no reason to turn it on lately. Hopefully something good comes out for it soon.

I think the dust my GPU has collected may have killed it.

Damn you, Super Mario Odyssey...
