Editorial Staff - [results Announced!]

What is the Editorial Staff?

The Editorial Staff (or ES) is a small team of community members devoted to promoting level playing and designing. Arguably the title itself (I am an ES member!) is a benefit, but other than that, an ES member should not expect anything from the community etc. Being an ES member is about being a servant to the One More Block and Atmosphir community. It will require consistent work, it's not just the sort of thing you do for fun.

What does the Editorial Staff do?

Initially, the ES will be responsible for doing a regular level spotlight and review (most likely bi-weekly). In the future, as the community grows, the ES's responsibilities will too. I'm excited to see how things develop! Possibilities for the future may include official design contests, Level of the Day, XP levels (I'd have to work with Nin on this) and maybe even Level of the Month.

How do I join?

Applications are currently closed, sorry! StreetLights and MaximumDragon are the new members!

I talked with a few mods beforehand to get their approval for this, just incase anyone's wondering.

Question is though, would we get a tag that says "Editorial Staff" instead of "member?", or aren't the mods allowed to do that :S

I don't really know, I didn't ask, It's not really a big deal to me, although I have to admit it would be cool

I almost halfway wouldn't want a tag though, bc it'd be kinda an ego boost sort of thing. I want people to apply because they love the community, not to feel like they're some sort of "elite group," you know?

But yeah, I'm guessing we'd come up with "official" design competitions for the community if we got in and things like that?

Yeah, if the mods (or whoever's in charge of that sort of thing) are willing to do it I'm all for it

Yup that's the idea. Not immediately, but sometime in the future. And obviously people could still start their own design competitions, which I think is a neat thing

Great! I have so much going on in my life right now so I'm scrambling to prepare everything. As soon as I figure out how everything will be organized I'll post a link to the application form.

Back during the time when Atmosphir was backed by a full development team, I applied for a position as Moderator five times. Look where I am now! Haha! In all seriousness, you could probably stitch all of my mod apps together to show my growth and maturity as I went into my teenage years.

My LOTD review for ES-for-a-day competition was picked two years before the game shut down, am I considered being part of Editorial Staff before?

Sure, go for it. Just mention that fact in the "responsibilities as ES" field

Post Merged: Just a heads up that the applications close tonight, if anyone else was gonna sign up. I know I said the 30th but I have a competition coming up, and I don't know how much time I'll have to spare.
