For a life to live two halves does it need
Those who coexist from when life was made
A significant does compassion feed
In time of end do these halves come to aid

Eight loyal pawns and a beautiful queen
Only one group to be spared of them all
A life must end for more days to be seen
The only choice is for the king to fall

None can escape the reach of its long arm
In fiction is where men find clarity
Reality does men the greatest harm

She is the every bit of perfection
Yet her beauty is seen only by one
To her he would give all his affection
If his wrongs of the past could be undone

He is every bit a disappointment
To fix the err of his ways, he will try
Too late will he be to his appointment
And with another is who she will fly

Reality had meant for them to be
Now it is only fiction that he see
