My old orchestra teacher showed us that in seventh grade.

To this day I'm still awestruck by that whole concept.
I need a shot again, that sweet adrenaline.

OK Go is awesome, and this album of theirs reminds me how they are making music for fun. I like to know that a musician is human every now and again XD.
I like OK Go, too, especially their music videos! The video for Needing/Getting is my favorite. MY marching band did This Too Shall Pass last year.
I don't know if any of you know this, but I'm a huge fan of the Who (DON'T MAKE THE PUN), they're my favorite band, and they are awesome. Keith Moon is the reason I still drum, and I have to say for only being taught the raw basics of drumming, I sound pretty good. My favorite albums are:

The next one is my personal favorite album cover of all time:

If you happen to have signatures enabled, you'll see two targets in mine. Those are the Mods symbols, from the sixties and seventies, introduced by The Who.

I haven't had any training, I just figured all I know out because of the Who and I just get bored while drumming to easy songs. I like to spice it up. I need to hit the toms and use fun fills as often as I can, while keeping it under control and at tempo. My influences are of course, Keith Moon, Neil Peart, and Zak Starkee (Ringo Starr's son, drummer for Oasis and new drummer for the Who, Keith Moon's god-son.). And about a video, I'm kind of like Yoshi on that deal, I'm not allowed to get a YouTube channel at the moment, and I'm kind of monitored by my parents, so sorry.

I don't think playing fills at every opportunity works for every song, I like to stick with the groove and just do little flash things.

Gavin Harrison has a great video on that.

As I said, under control. He says in the video he wouldn't go crazy whenever during the middle of the ballad, I'd make it work while still making it sound "moving", I guess. Like I'd take Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd and during the solos, I'd use the toms a bit more, like how Mason does when they'd play live. I just started listening to Mister John Bonham, sort of like him, I guess. With a mix of Keith Moon. Because I like to.

This is a slight little secant on my end, but still music related :)

I have always been really interested in the violin and other bowed stringed instruments. However, I have never been able to get into practising as violins are quite expensive and I haven't had the time to dedicate towards lessons, but thought for the bucket list. Anyway if you guys have any recommended musicians, performances, genres or songs I should direct my attention towards, in regards to violins - please let me know!

I recently happened upon this street performance of an electric violin, which I find super super good and I hope you guys enjoy it as well ;) Is there any other forum users here who like/play the violin?

Oh wow, that's actually really good! Thanks for sharing that.

Stringed instruments are always nice to listen to. (well, if they actually know how to play them :P )

I used to play the violin but I stopped because its an awful instrument

if you want to learn an instrument, go learn how to play a guitar (bass or regular), drums, keyboard or some music program.

Unless you have a deeply embedded wish for playing in an orchestra, you shouldn't really learn any other instruments.

Aw, I don't want to think that :P Haha, I don't know - never really want to play anything professionally, and solo acts for violins do exist. Why do you say they are terrible outside of orchestras?
