So, I may be building some sort of gaming computer/video rending computer this summer. Ah, and I am kind of nervous, because I know I'm going to be yelled at by those who are more tech-minded than me for getting the wrong thing or the cheap brand of something... soo, pre-emptively, I will apologise for making terribly incorrect purchases and being all-around foolish!

Have no fears about that. All in all, we're happy to aid you in making educated purchases for parts, and getting the most out of your dollar.Phantomboy wrote:So, I may be building some sort of gaming computer/video rending computer this summer. Generally, gaming computers also make for for great video rendering because GPU's have a ton of cores at their disposal. Just about all the popular video editors let you use GPU rendering.
If you're looking to build something that works awesome for gaming/rendering but is also cheap, I would suggest the following (using USD).
$58 Motherboard:

$109 CPU:

$44 Ram:

$219 GPU:

$49 PSU:

$51 1tb Harddrive:

Total:
$530 for the internal parts.
ThatOneFox is the guy to talk to about cases if you're wondering about those (he really doesn't like mine XD).
I spent like $20 USD on my case.

I've been considering building a gaming PC myself, and I got to wondering, how many parts should I buy at once? Should I just buy them all at once, or just a couple at a time, or what?

Re: Pc Master Race Thread
Depends. If your PC is a tower, you can just add parts to to it. My current rig has an i3, and 8gb of ram. The GPU is the only real powerhouse inside of it.ElectroYoshi wrote:I've been considering building a gaming PC myself, and I got to wondering, how many parts should I buy at once? Of course, if you dont have a regular desktop PC hanging around, I'd recommend buying the parts all together. Your patience wont hold out long enough, and standards for things like ram and CPU fittings change after enough time.
